Remember when wonderful fruitcakes were made in the family kitchen, with the best pure, fresh ingredients, including dried fruits, whole nuts and the aroma of fine spirits? They are being made again by mother and daughter, Susi and Marly Calladine, in their boutique Southern Highlands kitchen.
Slowly made with love and attention to detail from old family recipes, the cakes are cooled, hand-wrapped in cellophane, bound in hessian and sealed with the Burrawang Village Fruit Cake label.
Mouthwatering Burrawang Village fruit cakes
Brandy & Almond and Rum & Walnut fruit cakes are available in 400g size and by special order, 1.3 kg.
Once opened, the Burrawang Fruit Cake can be eaten weeks and months into the future, tempering unaffectedly over time, preserved by the Brandy and Rum content.
From the kitchen also come delicious Burrawang Flourless Almond Fingers and Burrawang Vanilla Choc Chip Biscuits, made to order by weight.
